TUBA Breast Augmentation
Saline implants are placed through the navel, usually under the muscle for a natural upper slope, in about 20 to 30 minutes under IV sedation with local anesthesia.
Transumbilical breast augmentation (TUBA) places saline implants through a small incision inside the navel, leaving no incision on the breasts. Dr. Leonard Grossman has performed TUBA since 1996, using an endoscope and preferring placement under the muscle. Surgery takes about 20 to 30 minutes under IV sedation and local anesthesia at his fully accredited Brooklyn surgery center, and most patients return to work the next day.

Transumbilical breast augmentation and the other implant options Dr. Grossman offers, matched to your goal size and anatomy.
Saline implants are placed through the navel, usually under the muscle for a natural upper slope, in about 20 to 30 minutes under IV sedation with local anesthesia.
Cohesive silicone gel implants that mimic natural breast tissue, placed through an incision under the breast or around the areola, for patients who prefer the feel of gel.
Saline implants are adjustable and a leak is easy to detect. Through the navel, Dr. Grossman also exchanges saline implants, changes size and corrects asymmetry.
In transumbilical breast augmentation, Dr. Grossman makes a small incision inside the navel, creates tunnels with blunt dissection and confirms the pocket with an endoscope. The details are planned for your anatomy: pocket size, placement over or under the muscle, whether the breast fold needs lowering, and the fill volume of each implant, which can differ side to side to correct asymmetry. You may be sat up so he can fine-tune symmetry. No drain is used, and the dressing is an elastic band above the breasts.

Gallery cases with 350 to 425 cc saline implants show results one year after TUBA, with no incision on the breasts themselves.
A TUBA practice built since 1996, offering augmentation with no incision on the breast, a navel scar that is well hidden, and a short, comfortable recovery.
Trained by the surgeon who popularized TUBA, with close to 8,000 cases by 2022, per his practice.
An endoscope confirms each pocket, and implants are filled and checked for symmetry with you sitting up.
TUBA is performed in his AAAHC-accredited Brooklyn surgery center under IV sedation and local anesthesia.
No drains, compression garments or special bras; most patients return to work the next day.

Transumbilical breast augmentation (TUBA) places saline breast implants through a small incision inside the navel, so no incision is made on the breasts or in the armpits. Dr. Grossman has performed it since 1996, was personally trained by the surgeon who developed and popularized the procedure, and his practice reports close to 8,000 TUBA procedures between 1996 and 2022.
