Abdominal Etching
Lipoetching sculpts the fat over your abdominal muscles with a fine cannula. Recovery requires no compression garments, and most people are up and about within a day or two.
Ab etching recovery with Dr. Leonard Grossman follows the same light protocol as his liposuction: outpatient surgery under local anesthesia and no compression garments, narcotics or pillows afterward. Most patients return to daily activities within one or two days. This page walks through the first week, the activities to pause, the warning signs worth a call, and how your definition develops as swelling settles.

Procedures often planned alongside etching, each following the same outpatient, garment-free recovery approach.
Lipoetching sculpts the fat over your abdominal muscles with a fine cannula. Recovery requires no compression garments, and most people are up and about within a day or two.
For the flanks, waist or back, his liposuction uses tiny incisions and local anesthesia, with a typical return to work the next day and the gym in about three days.
Organic Plastic Surgery reuses purified fat from contoured areas to add volume elsewhere. Grafted areas have their own aftercare, which Dr. Grossman reviews before surgery.
Recovery after abdominal etching with Dr. Leonard Grossman is planned to be short and simple. You go home the same day without a compression garment, most patients resume daily activities within one or two days, strenuous workouts wait about three days, and open-water swimming is typically fine within a week. Surgery is done under local anesthesia, with light sedation only if you want it, rather than general anesthesia, and Dr. Grossman sees you at follow-up visits as your definition emerges and swelling settles. Each plan is tailored to your anatomy and goals, with Dr. Grossman aiming for natural-looking, outstanding definition that suits your build.

See patients from Dr. Grossman’s etching gallery six months to two years after surgery, once swelling has fully settled.

Surgery and follow-up visits take place at his AAAHC-accredited surgery center on Emmons Avenue in Brooklyn.

Lighter than most people expect. Lipoetching is outpatient, so you go home the same day, and Dr. Grossman’s technique eliminates the need for compression garments, narcotics or special pillows afterward. Expect some swelling and tightness over the treated muscles for a short time; mild soreness is usually managed with over-the-counter pain relievers. The cannula entry points are tiny and placed discreetly, so there is little incision care and scarring is minimal. His focus is on minimal scarring and natural-looking, outstanding results.
