He earned his medical degree from New York Medical College in 1985, completed his internship and General Surgery residency at Beth Israel Medical Center, and completed fellowships in Microsurgery at Montefiore Hospital and Burns and Reconstruction at Jacobi Hospital. In 1995 he completed a fully accredited plastic surgery residency at Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Texas; his practice reports he became the first American plastic surgeon to use Ultrasound Assisted Liposuction that year.
