Abdominal Etching
Lipoetching carves the fat over the abdominal muscles with a fine cannula to reveal a six-pack, through tiny entry points, with results that are permanent at a stable weight.
Ab etching for six-pack definition with Dr. Leonard Grossman uses Lipoetching, the technique he developed and named in 1995, per his practice. A fine cannula removes hereditary fat from the borders of your abdominal muscles to reveal lines that training alone could not. The procedure is outpatient at his Brooklyn surgery center under local anesthesia with or without light IV sedation rather than general anesthesia, so you go home the same day. No compression garments or narcotics are needed afterward, most people resume daily activities within a day or two, and open water swimming is typically possible within a week.

Six-pack etching and the procedures Dr. Grossman pairs with it, all performed at his Brooklyn surgery center.

Power-assisted microcannula liposuction slims the flanks, waist and lower abdomen and is often combined with etching in the same session.
When loose skin or separated muscles are the issue, Dr. Grossman evaluates you for his drainless tummy tuck, performed under twilight anesthesia.
Ab etching is not weight loss. It is for people who already train and eat well but whose genetics hide their abdominal muscles. No two etchings follow the same steps: your fat thickness, where your muscle borders sit, whether the obliques and flanks are included, and how sharp you want the lines all shape the plan. Dr. Grossman maps the six-pack on your skin, adjusts it with you, then removes fat along the muscle borders with a fine cannula through entry points barely larger than a needle, so scarring stays minimal. No compression garments are needed afterward. The aim is natural-looking, outstanding definition that suits your build and the look you chose.

Gallery patients include a 43-year-old bodybuilder and a 52-year-old who wanted a Spartan look, photographed up to two years after surgery.

Women usually prefer softer lines, but definition can be as sharp as a man’s if that is what you want.
If you are not near your ideal weight, he will say so and suggest the right first step.
Your procedure happens in his AAAHC-accredited Brooklyn surgery center, with no hospital stay.

Reconstructive and Plastic Surgeon
Dr. Leonard Grossman is a Brooklyn, New York City plastic and reconstructive surgeon with more than 30 years of experience and a pioneer of Organic Plastic Surgery, using patients' own fat in place of synthetic materials. He earned his medical degree from New York Medical College in 1985, completed his internship and General Surgery residency at Beth Israel Medical Center, and completed fellowships in Microsurgery at Montefiore Hospital and Burns and Reconstruction at Jacobi Hospital. In 1995 he completed a fully accredited plastic surgery residency at Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Texas; his practice reports he became the first American plastic surgeon to use Ultrasound Assisted Liposuction that year. He pioneered calf augmentation with fat grafting in 1995 and, by his practice's count, has performed more than 4,500 calf augmentations. He operates at his fully accredited (AAAHC) surgery center at 3039 Emmons Ave in Brooklyn. Recognized by the Castle Connolly Guide, Vitals.com and RateMDs.com, he is dedicated to privacy, professionalism, and helping patients make informed decisions about their care.
The fat cells Dr. Grossman removes do not grow back, so the definition from etching is permanent. What can change it is weight: the remaining fat cells can enlarge with significant weight gain and blur the lines. Patients who keep a stable weight and stay active keep their result, and his gallery follows patients up to two years after surgery.
