Buccal Fat Removal
Dr. Grossman removes the buccal fat pads through a small incision inside the mouth, under local anesthesia with or without twilight sedation, for a more defined lower cheek.
Asian buccal fat removal surgery with Dr. Leonard Grossman removes the buccal fat pads through a small incision inside the mouth, typically in 20 to 30 minutes under local anesthesia with or without twilight sedation. Every recommendation is based on your own facial anatomy rather than ethnicity. Recovery is quick and comfortable: you go home the same day, eat a soft diet for a day or two and return to normal activities within a few days. The incision heals inside the mouth.

Facial contouring options matched to where your fullness actually comes from: fat, muscle or bone structure.
Dr. Grossman removes the buccal fat pads through a small incision inside the mouth, under local anesthesia with or without twilight sedation, for a more defined lower cheek.
For cheeks that have descended, he lifts through an incision inside the mouth and a small temple-hairline incision, or restores support with fat grafting.
When cheekbones look flat, he adds volume with your own stem-cell-enhanced fat, his preferred method since 1993, or with fillers. He no longer uses cheek implants.
There is no single “Asian” face, and Dr. Leonard Grossman does not use a separate ethnic technique. Access is through the mouth for every patient, which keeps any scar inside the mouth, while the plan itself is built on your anatomy: whether fullness comes from buccal fat, a strong masseter muscle or the jawline, and how much fat to remove so your features stay in proportion. When you would be better off without the procedure, he says so.

Patients in Dr. Grossman’s buccal fat gallery are shown one year after surgery, some with chin or neck work added for balance.
Facial contouring shaped by more than 30 years of reading each face individually and protecting natural proportions.
Not every full face needs buccal fat removed, and Dr. Grossman tells you when yours does not.
Fat pads are removed through a small intraoral incision in about 20 to 30 minutes, with no facial incision.
Surgery takes place in his AAAHC-accredited Brooklyn center, and you go home the same day.
No compression garments, narcotics or pillows, and most patients resume normal activities within a few days.
Meet the surgeon who evaluates every cheek on its own anatomy, not on ethnicity.

Dr. Grossman removes the buccal fat pads through a small incision inside the mouth, so there is no incision on the face. The procedure typically takes 20 to 30 minutes under local anesthesia, with or without twilight sedation. He does not use a separate ethnic technique: the access is through the mouth for every patient, while how much fat is removed, and whether any should be, is planned for your anatomy.
Ask whether your cheek fullness is buccal fat, and what Dr. Grossman would recommend for your face.
