Brazilian Butt Lift
Your own fat, harvested and purified, then placed in small amounts above the gluteal muscle to build projection and a rounder hip line.
What does a Brazilian butt lift look like six months after surgery? With Dr. Leonard Grossman, credited with coining the term BBL, swelling has settled by then and the surviving fat is permanent, so the six-month view is close to your long-term result. This page explains how his own-fat technique builds that result, what to look for in before-and-after photos, and how to review his gallery at a Brooklyn consultation.

The fat-transfer and contouring procedures behind the results in Dr. Grossman’s BBL photos.
Your own fat, harvested and purified, then placed in small amounts above the gluteal muscle to build projection and a rounder hip line.
Stem-cell-rich fat grafting is the core of Organic Plastic Surgery; the principle Dr. Grossman uses for the buttocks also restores the face, breasts and calves.
Liposuction of the abdomen, flanks, thighs and back shapes the waist that frames your new curves, often as Liposuction 360.
Six months after a Brazilian butt lift, swelling has settled and the fat that took is there to stay, so this is when photos start to show the long-term shape. No two BBLs follow identical steps: which donor areas are sculpted, how much fat your body can give, and how that fat is mapped between the upper buttock, lower buttock and hip dips are planned from your own photographs and measurements. Dr. Grossman’s technique is built for durability: gentle liposuction harvest, purification that keeps the healthiest fat cells, and small volumes layered between skin and muscle. At consultation he reviews gallery photos with you and explains honestly how your frame and fat supply compare. His goal is a natural-looking, outstanding result: a proportionate curve that suits your frame and looks like your own body.

Gallery patients range in age from 27 to 58, including a man three years after a male BBL, with photos taken one to three years after surgery.
Results built from your own fat, placed safely and photographed long after the swelling is gone.
Dr. Grossman has refined his fat-transfer technique since the mid-1990s and is credited with coining the BBL name.
Fat is layered between skin and muscle, “where God placed it in the first place,” and never in the muscle.
His gallery shows BBL patients one to three years after surgery, well past the six-month mark.
No compression garment or drains are needed, and Dr. Grossman shows you how to sit without a special BBL pillow.

Reconstructive and Plastic Surgeon
Dr. Leonard Grossman is a Brooklyn, New York City plastic and reconstructive surgeon with more than 30 years of experience and a pioneer of Organic Plastic Surgery, using patients' own fat in place of synthetic materials. He earned his medical degree from New York Medical College in 1985, completed his internship and General Surgery residency at Beth Israel Medical Center, and completed fellowships in Microsurgery at Montefiore Hospital and Burns and Reconstruction at Jacobi Hospital. In 1995 he completed a fully accredited plastic surgery residency at Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Texas; his practice reports he became the first American plastic surgeon to use Ultrasound Assisted Liposuction that year. He pioneered calf augmentation with fat grafting in 1995 and, by his practice's count, has performed more than 4,500 calf augmentations. He operates at his fully accredited (AAAHC) surgery center at 3039 Emmons Ave in Brooklyn. Recognized by the Castle Connolly Guide, Vitals.com and RateMDs.com, he is dedicated to privacy, professionalism, and helping patients make informed decisions about their care.
Right away. Dr. Grossman’s patients see a fuller, rounder shape immediately after surgery, and as swelling subsides the proportions keep improving. The final result can be fully appreciated within a few months, which is why a six-month photo is a far better guide to your long-term shape than anything taken in the first weeks. Recovery on the way there is comfortable for most patients: no narcotics, drains or compression garments, back to work in a couple of days and to gym workouts within about 10 days.
