Abdominal Etching
Fine-cannula Lipoetching that removes fat along the rectus and oblique borders, following markings you approve, to reveal soft or sharp six-pack definition.
Abdominal etching and lipo for abs with Dr. Leonard Grossman combine two techniques he has refined for decades: The Smarter Liposuction, his local-anesthesia, garment-free approach to fat removal, and Lipoetching, the six-pack method his practice says he developed in 1995. Both are done in one outpatient session at his Brooklyn surgery center, through tiny incisions and with no compression garment afterward.

Etching, liposuction and the tummy tuck options Dr. Grossman considers when skin, not fat, is the issue.

Microcannula power-assisted liposuction under local anesthesia slims the abdomen, waist and flanks through tiny incisions, with no stitches or compression garments.
For loose skin or separated muscles, Dr. Grossman reviews his drainless tummy tuck, and for milder laxity, Renuvion tightening as a less invasive alternative.
Abdominal etching and lipo for abs work as a pair, but the balance differs for every abdomen: a thicker lower-belly layer needs more liposuction, while a lean athlete may need mostly etching. Microcannula liposuction reduces stubborn fat on the belly, waist and flanks; Lipoetching then thins fat along the muscle borders. Dr. Grossman performs both under local anesthesia in a warm operating room and can check the result with you standing. The tiny entry points need no stitches, so scarring is minimal, and the aim is natural-looking, outstanding results that suit your build.

Liposuction and etching performed the way Dr. Grossman has refined them since the 1990s, with you involved in the final result.
No general anesthesia, a warm operating room, tiny incisions without stitches, and no compression garments.
Your contour can be checked with you standing at a mirror, and he isn’t finished until you say your goal is met.
Lipoetching shapes the fat along your muscle borders so the abs you train for finally show.
Consultation, surgery and follow-up all happen at his surgery center on Emmons Avenue in Brooklyn, NYC.

In 1995 he completed a fully accredited plastic surgery residency at Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Texas; his practice reports he became the first American plastic surgeon to use Ultrasound Assisted Liposuction that year. He pioneered calf augmentation with fat grafting in 1995 and, by his practice's count, has performed more than 4,500 calf augmentations. Recovery is short. You leave the surgery center the same day without a compression garment, take it easy for a day or two, hold off on strenuous workouts for about three days, and are usually cleared for open-water swimming within a week. After liposuction, most people need nothing stronger than Tylenol or Motrin, and swelling fades over the following weeks as the definition sharpens.
