Earlobe Repair
Repair of torn, split or stretched earlobes, reshaping the lobe and closing it with fine sutures so it looks natural and the scar stays minimal.
Earlobe repair in NYC restores torn, split or stretched earlobes and corrects damage from piercings or injury. Dr. Leonard Grossman performs each earlobe repair at his Brooklyn surgery center, usually under local anesthesia, with fine sutures for minimal scarring and a same-day trip home. Ear reshaping or pinning for prominent ears, usually under local anesthesia, which can be combined with earlobe repair when both concerns exist.
Earlobe concerns usually follow a pulled earring, years of heavy earrings, gauges or an injury. Dr. Leonard Grossman, trained in microsurgery and in burns and reconstruction, looks first at how much healthy lobe tissue remains and whether you plan to wear earrings again, because that shapes the repair. Earlobe repair is outpatient and easy to recover from: it is commonly done under local anesthesia, and you go home the same day. Most patients resume daily activities within a few days to a week, while the fine-suture scar and final result settle over several weeks.
