Chest Evaluation
Dr. Grossman reviews your weight history, medications and physician workup, then examines how much of the fullness is fat and how much is glandular tissue.
Learn what can and cannot cure gynecomastia without surgery from Dr. Leonard Grossman, a Brooklyn, NYC plastic surgeon with more than 30 years of experience. He starts with the cause: weight, hormones and medications are reviewed, ideally with your physician, before any procedure. When glandular tissue persists, surgery is usually the more reliable answer, and his minimally invasive liposuction-based reduction lets most men return to work the next day.

From medical workup to minimally invasive reduction, each step matches the cause of your chest fullness.

Renuvion® J-Plasma® can firm mild to moderately loose chest skin after weight loss, but it does not remove breast tissue, so it is used only where laxity is the issue.
When tissue persists, PAL and UAL liposuction removes it through a tiny incision. Most men are back at work the next day and in the gym within three days.
Not every enlarged male chest needs surgery, and not every one can be fixed without it. Dr. Leonard Grossman’s approach follows his own advice: men with gynecomastia should see a family physician first, and if all tests are normal, they may consider breast reduction. When fullness persists after weight and medications are addressed, his liposuction-based reduction removes the tissue through a tiny incision, with no pressure garments afterward.

His men’s gallery includes patients in their 20s and 40s after liposuction-based chest reduction, some combined with abdomen and flank contouring.
Straight answers about what non-surgical care can and cannot do for male breast tissue.
He sends men to their physician first when hormones, medications or weight may be driving the change.
If non-surgical care is unlikely to work for established tissue, you hear that plainly at consultation.
When surgery is needed, tissue comes out through a tiny incision, about 3 mm, with no pressure garments.
Treatment takes place at his AAAHC-accredited surgery center in Brooklyn, NYC, and you go home the same day.

In 1995 he completed a fully accredited plastic surgery residency at Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Texas; his practice reports he became the first American plastic surgeon to use Ultrasound Assisted Liposuction that year. He pioneered calf augmentation with fat grafting in 1995 and, by his practice's count, has performed more than 4,500 calf augmentations. Sometimes, when a specific cause can be found and corrected. Dr. Grossman’s advice is to see your family physician first: weight gain, hormone imbalances, certain medications and, in some cases, cancer can all enlarge male breast tissue, and treating the cause may shrink it. If tests are normal and the tissue persists, non-surgical options are often less effective than surgery, and male breast reduction becomes the practical next step.
