Dr. Leonard Grossman is a plastic surgeon in New York City who has been closely monitoring the situation of the coronavirus pandemic. For the past 6 weeks, our plastic surgery office has had to cancel all the elective procedures to ensure the safety of our staff and our clients. We want to assure you that in the coming weeks, as New York re-opens for business in stages, we are here for you and are completely ready to serve your needs. If your plastic surgery appointment had been canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic, we will soon be ready to reschedule these appointments. If you have been thinking about rescheduling a procedure or scheduling a new one, Dr. Grossman will soon be able to resume scheduled surgery procedures as well as take care of the new patients.
In the past few weeks, New York City has seen the coronavirus pandemic peak, but there have been fewer and fewer new cases being reported in the city and the state in the past several days. In light of these recent improvements, governor Andrew Cuomo has updated the state about his plans regarding how the city and state might begin to re-open. According to the New York Times, businesses in low-risk industries may be able to re-open in the coming weeks. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons has called for plastic surgeons to follow the guidance of local officials when considering re-opening their practices. Our plastic surgery office is following local guidelines and is planning to soon begin to schedule new procedures and appointments once we get the go-ahead from local officials.
Dr. Grossman understands that many patients are eagerly awaiting to get the green light so that they can schedule their next plastic surgery procedure, and we understand how challenging the past several weeks have been for many of you. We are still here for you and are available to answer any questions you may have. We want to assure our patients that we are taking all recommended precautions regarding safety to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, and that our office is following local guidance regarding re-opening the office.
Since some of the hospitals in NYC will start to perform non-life-saving procedures next week, the accredited surgical centers like ours may take a week or longer to get the go-ahead.
