Surgery
On the day of the surgery, the patient is welcomed into Dr. Grossman's facility, where comfort and safety are paramount. Under just local anesthesia or in combination with sedation, the procedure is typically performed with comfort and relaxation for the patient. For upper eyelid surgery, incisions are made along the eyelids' natural creases to remove excess skin and fat, while tightening the underlying muscles if necessary. For lower eyelid surgery, incisions may be placed just below the individual's lower lash line or inside the lower lid in an attempt to correct puffiness and sagging. Some patients need a “pinch” excision of excess skin in the lower eyelid leaving the patient with a hardly visible scar. For patients with minimal excess skin in the lower eyelid, CO2 laser resurfacing alone may be offered. Dr. Grossman's precise and minimally invasive techniques ensure minimal scarring and natural-looking results.
