Plastic surgery can be a wonderful experience for many individuals who wish to correct certain physical imperfections. But an experienced surgeon like Dr. Leonard Grossman can tell you, there comes a point where a line must be drawn. Some people, and even celebrities, tend to get carried away with their cosmetic surgery dreams/wishes, opting for more procedures than they really need. One of these celebrities is former reality star Heidi Montag.
Montag is just 27, but by the time she was 23, she had already undergone several plastic surgeries, including Rhinoplasty, a number of breast augmentation surgeries, buttocks enhancement, liposuction, brow lift, and several others. If she would have just gotten a nose job and breast augmentation, there would be no need to worry, but the already thin and beautiful Montag spent thousands of dollars to transform herself into an unrecognizable shadow of her former self.
She now sports several scars from her surgery, including a 2-inch-long scar from a chin reduction and bald spots on her hairline from the brow lift.
“People have fewer scars from car accidents than I have on my body. I’m always going to feel like Edward Scissorhands,” Montag told Life & Style.
But many are left to wonder, was Montag’s plastic surgery nightmare the result of her own misguided attempt to change herself physically or was it the result of an inexperienced and unprofessional plastic surgeon?
Plastic surgery procedures should not produce largely visible scars. When treatments are performed correctly, patients – at most – will only see tiny marks for more extensive surgeries, not dimples or spots from liposuction, scars around the nipple following breast implant surgery, or uneven implants themselves.
For Montag, one of her biggest regrets was her breast augmentation surgery. The starlet actually had two augmentations. The first increased the size of her bust to a size C, which was perfectly fine, but then Montag continued to get larger implants, finally ending up with a G-cup – a huge mistake.
An experienced plastic surgeon will never increase the size of a woman’s breasts by more than two cup sizes in the first session. First of all, such a huge increase can negatively affect the woman’s health and second, extremely large breast implants will look unnatural and disproportionate, which is what happened with Montag.
The starlet experienced her share of health problems, including a ruptured disc in her neck, spinal damage and numbness in her arm from pinched nerves, which may have been a result of her extremely large breasts. As a result, Montag chose to reduce the size of her implants to a D-cup. Still a large size for her petite frame, but much better than the monstrous implants she once had.
Montag, whose original cup size was an A, could have stayed at the C-cup size and looked amazing. But as with many stars, she developed an obsession with plastic surgery she now wishes she could take back.
Montag admits her money could have been better spent, but at least she is now realizing the error of her ways before suffering from an irreversible health issues.
